Tried the Torchlight II beta for a bit today. Really a lot like the Diablo series. Some of the Diablo developers worked on TL2. But in comparison to Diablo, very few people know about Torchlight’s existence. And you’ll probably be where your friends are at.
Torchlight II isn’t out yet (obv, since I was playing the beta), but it will be significantly cheaper than D3. It’s a shorter game and looks more cartoony, but it’s a fun game anyway. Too bad it didn’t come out before D3.
I sure wish D3 could have more than 4 people per game. And more challenging questing systems. Searching for where to go next, figuring out what to do - why must everyone just plow through everything?

I totally got some of these. Vibram FiveFingers. The long, mostly uphill hike in Iceland did a number on my feet/knee issues. I knew about VFFs years ago (look up “barefoot running”) and was gonna bite but wanted to save coin. I really splurged this month.
This summer, I will try to start posting a bit more on the sheet music tumblr as compared to the past few months, which was virtually nil so shouldn’t be too much of a challenge. And finish translating both Spiral Alive and Mushiuta!

Back from Iceland!
Photo taken during an arduous hike. Great trip. My exam didn’t go so well though.
I have two ASKs to reply to on the sheet music tumblr of which at least one requires reposting links to sheets. So I will do that plus post some new sheets later today. Have a guest coming so I need to quickly primp up my house and myself.
Work begins in a few days so I’m not sure how much time I will have during this summer. I can’t decide whether to get D3 or not! I played D1 and threw so many hours at 2. But work and my resolution to regularly work out again will leave so very, very little free time. I’d decided not to get back into Diablo, but the nostalgia and the inevitable lack of hanging with friends as we split up for work has given me an itch. D3 release on the 15th!
I have been very busy with the thing called Real Life. It’s nearing May, so:
The Sakura trees/cherry blossoms at High Park downtown Toronto bloomed early this year because of the abnormally warm winter. This pic was taken almost two weeks ago, and the sakura hadn’t fully bloomed yet. But I didn’t know Toronto even had these until this year. There is a petting zoo which is set to close this June. Kids’ drawings are posted throughout in protest. You have the “Save the zoo!”, “Save me!” pics, and then you have the “Animal Kung-fu on Ford!” pics. 9 year olds are scary people.
Spiral Alive Manga update:

I haven’t read the old chaps in more than a few years, so again my bad if things here and there don’t make sense. (And if I swap subject/object in a sentence…) But at least it’s proper English hahah. ._.”
This chapter (which is also the end of the volume) ends with a big revelation, arrghh! Now I have to keep reading…

Yesterday in DCUO I was on a mission with a partner battling Wonder Woman. We were morphed into gorillas for the first time (partner playing a healer: “But OMG my dps is godly now!” /half jokes) and somehow knocked WW above a doorway where she just chilled (eff’ing AI). Issues getting our primates up there, so after initial WTF!? I got my partner to stand facing WW (“? Why??”) so I could SMASH him at WW (“!!”) with what I discovered was a super knockback skill. IT WORKED.
Some supervillains we are. Oh vid games, the lessons you learn.
Spiral Alive manga update:
I was on the original scanlation team for Spiral and Spiral Alive. The group fizzled out, but another took it up and has released up to ch19 of Spiral Alive so far. The translator’s first and second languages were neither Japanese nor English. I was the proofreader and couldn’t read a scrap of Japanese in the past, see. Even then I knew the lines in Spiral/Spiral Alive releases still had some contextual issues and must’ve been riddled with oops, but they were grammatically correct! And a big improvement over the preliminary script! … orz
So today I finally went over virtually every line in ch20 to fix wording and all.

Got my hands on a decent vid card for my desktop. Besides work before the term is officially over, looks like I’ll be spending my time mowing down zombies and aliens.
Old vid card couldn’t do shooters, if the game ran at all.
